Wikileaks and Cablegate
Currently the most popular site in world news is wikileaks. Wikleaks is a whistle blowing site, which publishes classified government documents. Sometime back it released lot of documents related to Iraq war and Afgan war these are called wardiaries. This created lot of furore among in United states. They also released a video which shows slaughter of innocent people by US military. The most recent one is the cablegate.
On Sunday 28th November 2010, Wikileaks began publishing 251,287 leaked United States embassy cables, the largest set of confidential documents ever to be released into the public domain. The documents will give people around the world an unprecedented insight into the US Government’s foreign activities.
As I was going through this I found a lot of articles explaining about wikileaks, the consequences of the releases etc. I’m sharing two articles which found very informative.
Here is first article which explains what wikileaks is all about
This article explain what are the consequences which wikileaks and it’s editor-in-chief Julian Assange is facing.
